I chose my Experiment Reflection paper as my signature assignment because it demonstrated most of what psychology has done for me. It demonstrates my capability to function in a psychology class environment.
It demonstrates my learning in the SLCC Goals section for the following reasons:
- Acquire substantive knowledge in the discipline of their choice sufficient for further study, and/ or demonstrate competencies required by employers to be hired and succeed in the workplace.
I feel that moving on to further classes would be very possible and i would be able to do well in moving on. I am able to grasp the concepts of what we were being taught, and throught the experiement, apply them in my daily life.
2. Communicate effectively.
This assignment to me involved communicating with others, and also with the teacher, in order to efficiently complete the experiment and type up the evaluation. In this paper I presented the materials in an organized and well mannered fashion.
3. Develop quantitative literacies necessary for their chosen field of study
I applied proper techniques to my studies, and organized it in a scheduled manner.
4. Think Critically.
Much of this assignment involved taking things from a professional perspective, and analyzing different aspects of the experiment. Along with this i had to think critically about what this assignment taught me about myself, and how this will be applied in my future.
5. Develop the knowledge and skills to be civically engaged, and/or to work with others in a professional and constructive manner.
In order to function in society today, it's crucial we understand different aspects of psychology. I learned a lot about the effects of sleep on a person, and memory we are able to retained if we get more sleep. I feel as though taking this class and learning what I learned to effectively write this paper, made me a stronger person for the community, because I now know more about the way people think, and why they think this way.
